Blue Dory Lane

This 5X7 oil painting on Gessobord was painted from a photo taken on Block Island of the lane behind the Blue Dory Inn.  Walking by I caught a glimpse of the sea between the buildings and had to paint it. This painting is available in my Etsy Shop.

Rabbit Terrine and Radishes

These radishes are from my garden and the rabbit terrine was purchased during my Williams Sonoma days.  I think they make a charming set up, since the rabbits in my yard would love to get at my row of radishes. This 8x10 oil on panel is available in my Esty Shop.

Blue Hydrangea in Copper Pot

This 9X12 oil painting was painted in class.  Painting copper is interesting and I will definitely add it to my favorites.

Daffodils Revisited

This 8X10 oil still life on Gessobord was painted in class.  I got a pit in my stomach when I walked in class and saw the still life set up was daffodils.  My nemesis, the dreaded daffodil, was back to torture me.  Though happy with it's turn out,  I can wait another year before having to paint them again.  Taking a painting class definitely takes you out of your comfort zone.  This painting SOLD from my Esty Shop.

View from Amy Dodge Lane, BI

This plein aire 5X7 oil on Art Board panel was painted a few years ago.   I had framed it and never photographed it until today.  It was painted from the deck of our vacation rental on Block Island.  How could you ever become tired of this view?

Been very busy and excited with new projects including learning Photoshop CS6 and a new oil painting art class.  Love the challenge of learning new things.

Relaxing on the Beach

A floppy hat, a classic beach chair and reading a good book at the water's edge are the essential ingredients for a perfect vacation day.  This 9x12 oil on canvas was painted from a photo of my beautiful daughter relaxing on the beach.

Hailey Grace

This 5X7 oil is of my grand niece Hailey Grace playing at the water's edge in Florida.  She is an adorable toddler who is always busy.

Jackie's 1988 F150

This oil painting ( 8"x8" on Gessobord) is a gift for my son's 25th birthday  It was his first truck when he turned 17 years old.  Jackie, being quite the thrill seeking teenager, had numerous adventures with the 1988 Ford F150.  One of my favorite stories is when he was a senior in high school, he put a plastic liner in the bed and filled it with hot water from both my house and neighbor's boilers and made it into a hot tub.  He slowly drove it to the homecoming football game and partied in the parking lot in his hot tub with all his friends.  The rest of the time he had a tufted red velvet couch in the back of the truck for lounging with his buddies and girlfriend. The truck also helped him get 2 inches of stitches in his head when his back flip off his tailgate failed.  Needless to say, he eventually went off the college, then to a job and his own house and left the truck in our driveway.  My 15 year old nephew just inherited the truck.  May he have as many adventures with it and give his mother as many gray hairs.   Happy Birthday Jackie!
