Friday Finds and Random 5 Friday

1.  This week we had two snow storms that accumulated about 16 inches of snow and ice and caused two days off from work….(happy) sigh.  Another storm is predicted for this weekend and I say "bring it on" since Punxsutawney Phil has predicted only six more weeks of Winter.

2.  I ordered this lovely set of alphabet stamps from Etsy, only to be disappointed that the size was in centimeters and not inches.  Still heart them though.

3.  Every week I make a different kind of soup.  There is nothing more heartwarming than a bowl of homemade soup and some crusty bread on a cold day.  This is one of my husband's favorite - split pea soup.

4.  Sometimes the only things that get me through Winter are my heated seats in my car, electric blanket on my bed and warm alpaca socks on my feet.  Do you have little things that get you through the dog days of Winter?

5.  I finished my first month of a 365 photography challenge and I created a mosaic board to celebrate.   It's very exciting to see it come together…only 11 more months to go.

Well that's all the randomness I have for this week.  I'm sharing with Kim Klassen's Friday Finds and Random 5 Friday today.  Be sure to stop by and enjoy the random finds.

Have an awesome weekend.

  5. Beautiful photos and I love the mosaic. I made split pea soup a couple of weeks ago and think I may make some turkey vegetable soup. I wear funny socks during the winter -- at least looking at my feet makes me laugh! Stay warm -- love the letters. Happy Friday!

  10. This is the winter to love our heated seats! I am a tinge jealous of those who have these heated steering wheels I just learned of.

  11. That snow photo is beautiful! And I love your January storyboard. I'm in the midst of a 365 {begun in July} and haven't thought about doing that. I am going to make a 2-volume photo book of my 365, one for each six months. Good luck with your 365! It's challenging but fun.

  18. Your Photo Challenge pictures look great. Imagine what a whole year will look like. I like the little box your stamps came in, too! That's a pretty snow picture, just glad it isn't here! My electric blanket no longer warms, so I'm wearing a winter-weight nightgown, leggings and SOCKS to sleep in for the first time in my life.

  19. Hi, Margie! Back again. I just read your comment on Camper, lovely to see you there. As for my 365 book, I plan to use Blurb.com. I used to use Shutterfly but didn't like the last couple of projects I did on there. Blurb gives you much more freedom with layout and design. I'm thinking two images to a page as there is a limit to how many pages they will print in one book, that's why I'm doing two. So far this is all talk, I haven't started. Yes, I am on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/dottirinehart/. I also have a collaborative blog: Focusingonlifegrp.blogspot.com. Have a lovely weekend!
